Time to Take Personal Responsibility

Time to Take Personal Responsibility

taking responsibilityIs what you are experiencing in your life what you want it to be?  We all want to put responsibility on outside influences for things that are causing us stress, challenge and discomfort, but that is so limiting.  The most powerful stance we can take is one of personal responsibility because then there is hope for change. This is definitely not implying blame and guilt, far from it.  We only know what we know and we are generally making choices in each moment based on that!  So – the opportunities are endless if we come from a position of personal responsibility.

“We don’t see the world as it is, we see the world as we are.”

We are incredible beings with such inner resources to interact with the world around us and our bodies do an amazing job of trying to keep up with what we put them through every day.  Sometimes though, it just feels like we don’t have enough to get through whatever is going on.  Many of us live in an exhausted state, with commitments pulling from every direction and a feeling that there is no time for ourselves.  This is not an empowering feeling and the body will find a way to let us know that we are not in balance!  Whether we experience headaches, tension aches, digestive issues, insomnia, high blood pressure, anxiety; the list is endless; it is the bodies messaging system at work.

When we finally say to ourselves that, “this isn’t ok any more” and start wanting to have a different outcome for our life, we are in a position to take responsibility and then possibility can step in.  “Where thoughts go, energy follows!”

Is it time to stop and listen to the messages of your body?  Are you ready to partner with it instead of ignoring the issues or trying to mask them? So what’s the first step?

Pause!    *     Breathe!   *    Make Peace with Where you Are!

If we cannot accept the reality of where we are, then we are in resistance.  What we resist persists so we hold ourselves paralyzed in a cycle of creating more of what we don’t want.  If we can come to grips with the fact that we are where we are and then put energy into thinking about where we want to be, then we are in a place of power and possibility. The life we are experiencing is a direct reflection of our beliefs, thoughts and the choices we make every day.

“Your beliefs become your thoughts,
Your thoughts become your words,
Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your values,
Your values become your destiny.”

Mahatma Gandhi

When we are ready to make change, we don’t have to figure it all out ourselves.  Once the new decision is made, you have created a new intention and then the universe can show up to bring the support you need.  Inside Out is always here to support you as are innumerable others.  How about you? Are your choices serving your highest good?

I’d love to hear from you. And don’t forget to leave a link back to your own blog as well if you have one via the commentluv feature here on the site.

Until next time,

Karen
