    Karen,

I’ve known about the enneagram for about 15 years and have been typed by a master teacher as a “one”, which at first I resisted but have gradually come to see how it fits. I also own a business (some tennis and fitness clubs) and we use the Predictive Index therein for hiring purposes. I’ve recently joined an enneagram study group and I asked all participants to fill out a P.I. My thesis was/is that there must be some correlation between P.I. scores and ennea types. For instance, it seems reasonable to me that all “ones” would have high “D’s” (i.e. rule followers, risk avoiders, not wanting to make a mistake) and all “fives” would have low “B’s” and all “seven’s” would have high “B’s”. But I’ve seen some other patterns that are intriguing. Like – many self proclaimed sixes have an A-D conflict (making them swing between opposites as your post on 6 suggests). There are also several people with the P.I. version of the chameleon pattern (all points around the average)…I’m wondering if that pattern fits the “nine” ennea type.

It seems like there are some good possibilities here but I’m not sure if I’m on to something or not. I’m wondering if you (or anyone you know) has worked with this idea any and if so, if you’d be willing to share what you’ve found.

    thanks….I’ve enjoyed exploring your website.

      Hi Pat,

It is always interesting to explore the correlation between personality systems and I believe you will always find area’s that overlap and show some patterns.

One company I worked with, used the PI as part of the hiring process and I was fully trained in interpreting the results. I have not done any research to compare the characteristics found between the PI and someone’s enneagram type as you highlight here.

My experience in looking at other systems with the enneagram, is that they are limited in being able to cover all 9 types with any consistency. You are absolutely finding certain points that are very likely to be true such as a high D relating to type one and the 6’s having an A-D conflict however I do not believe there are enough patterns to cover all types.

I appreciate this exploration and conversation and am happy to share further thoughts if you would like to call me sometime.

      Cheers,
      Karen

Great to hear that you took the time to review the manual Karen, we all need reminders once in awhile. I find that when people volunteer for the panels at my workshops that they often comment on how much it reminded them of good tips and awarenesses. It is important to review material that supports us as we hear enough about our challenges with day to day living. Keep shining your beautiful light Karen!

    Dear Karen,
Thank you for you nice bright energy.
Here by I inform you that I am organising two workshops in Cape Town on the topics of “The Sufi understanding of the Enneagram” and one on the topic of “Birth”, that are planned for the beginning of March of this year. They will be directed by Shaykh Amanoullah Philippe de Vos who will come from France to spread his wisdom and knowledge, the first time that a Sufis Master comes to teach enneagram in the Western Cape. He is an international speaker who has for 15 years being teaching throughout France, Belgium, Switzerland, India, USA, Jamaica, Senegal, Mali and Ethiopia. He is one of the Masters of the Naqshbandi Golden Chain and also received permission from Masters of Wisdom in India to transmit the energy-consciousness regardless of the spiritual paths followed, without prejudice, because the Light is One. Philippe de Vos dedicated his life to spread Oneness, organizing workshop and retreat all over the world, awaking people to the immensity of the Ocean. I have been following Shaykh Philippe Amanoullah de Vos since few years now, and have seen some wonderful individual and collective transformations thanks to processes including conscious energy/breathing/and harmonic music using frequencies (Monroe Institute), whatever the religion and origin.
I am thinking that maybe you would like to meet him, and that you could help us passing on the message. Warm regards. David

Hi David – what a beautiful message to read and I would dearly love to come in March to South Africa because I Love the country, to meet you and Phillipe de Vos and to experience this work. It is a bit too short notice for this time and I am booked for another course the week of the 12th. I am happy to share your message and will look up the work you speak of. Keep in touch with me and I wish you magic as you share the light of Oneness! There are many of us around the globe now who are bringing forth the light – it is time! Blessings to you.

    Hi Karen!

How are you? I left you a voice message a few weeks ago. I would love to connect soon to discuss some global transforming initiatives that I am a part of, one of which will be uniting “Wise Women” on an global level. I am in San Diego for a business meeting with a “Wise Woman” from Florida and will be returning on Friday. Is there any way we can meet up for a tea within the next few weeks?

Thanks and looking forward to reconnecting again.

    Hi Karen

I was looking for a monthly Reiki share meeting. I acquired my Reiki Master/Teacher certificate back in 2006 and am a member of CRA. I have been ‘out of practice’ for some time. I was hoping to find a monthly meeting of Reiki practitioners to work on each other, sharing this fabulous energy. Is this something you do or do you know of such a monthly meeting? I’m in Newmarket. Thank you so much for your response.

    Warmest Reiki Blessings!

      Hi Karen,
Thank you for getting in contact with me as it is wonderful to know other reiki masters in the community. I have been part of reiki shares in the past and very much enjoy the time. Right now my schedule is quite full to commit to a regular reiki share so I would invite you to check out my reiki table practice days. I have one coming up on the 22nd of Sept. They are very powerful days for all in attendance. Please give me a call and at least we can get to know each other. Cheers, Karen

Hi Karen. Just to say I’ve loved reading the deft and considered way you respond to the messages left on your site. I’m a 3w2, and can almost predict the subtle distinction between the ‘warmth’ of your reply, and the ‘charm’ of my post! 😉 It is nice to get to the point of being amused by one’s type, and (especially as a 3) learn from and appreciate the particular strengths of other peoples. Keep up the good work! Very Best Wishes, Rajan

    Hi Karen:
I’ve been thinking of contacting you with this info for some time now, as I am surprised there has been no mention of it in your blogs.
So I wonder if you are aware of it: My sister in Ireland is a practitioner as are so many others and the results are amazing.
EFT – Emotion Freeing Technique, otherwise known as TAPPING. Based on the Meridian points and going back to ancient Chinese methods of acupuncture. The Tapping is done with 2 fingers on those meridian points and the freeing can be almost instant. There is much more to all this and so I will email you some info that I have. There is currently a World Tapping Summit going on with wonderful practitioners providing hour long sessions.

I am living in Kingston now, but did attend one of your gatherings of women to dance around the fire some years back and really enjoyed this.
Hope you consider adding this wonderful technique to your practice.
    Best Regards

      Hi Anne,
I absolutely do know about EFT and have experienced it before a few times. As we have so many wonderful modalities on this world to explore, I believe we are drawn to those that resonate most with us. I definitely appreciate the work of EFT and support all those who are drawn to it. I feel I cover many basis already and am not pulled to add it to my practise however I do refer clients to many other practitioners when it feels like they could provide another step for my clients journey to wholeness and joy.
Thanks for touching base and remembering the circle! Know you are welcome out anytime you are in the area.

Hello Karen, I have become very fascinated by the bio-photon therapies after watching Dr Johan Boswinkel’s videos. As an attuned Karuna Reiki Master myself I am waiting to do another type of therapy before I can use it for a job in helping others. You see, I have found Reiki very helpful since I have been attuned to the different degrees. I am only an ordinary person working in a supermarket but I would like to expand my energy work by studying another holistic therapy so it would go hand in hand for a job to really help others. The biophoton therapy has fascinated me so much and I would love to give it a go as I know there are issues that need to be cleansed out. More so, it would help my family enormously! I live in the UK and I have a feeling that biophoton therapists are few and far. May I ask from your own perspective as a Reiki Master, would it be a good idea to try this therapy out first, and can it increase your ability as a channel for the Reiki to flow through?

    Namaste and blessings Karen
    Andrei 🙂

Hello Andrei – I appreciate your thoughtful inquiry. I have found the biophoton therapy to be a beautiful compliment to my reiki practice. The biggest advantage has been to introduce clients to energy work in a more scientific manner and from the results they experience and the trust developed between us, then more healing work can happen. It took some time to translate what I know through my hands, to what I get from the chiren but it is the same – we listen for the clients body to express it’s story. Follow your heart and intuition and go out to experience how the biophoton therapy works for you. You will know if it is the right path to follow. Good luck and check back in any time.

“In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, in the expert’s there are few.” – Shunryu Suzuki-roshi Great quote — reminds me of the jack-of-all-trades, master of none, but in a good way ? I have always flitted from topic to topic, and on occassion, wondered why I am not steered to just one specialty. This quote suits my ‘tasting type’ just perfectly. Miigwetch Karen, TL
