For those of you who follow my blog, you know that I value the ability we have to continually educate ourselves. It provides a better platform to make wise choices in our lives so that we create the outcomes we want. On that note, I would like to highlight the community film nights hosted by The Green Connections Network. Moving into our third season, these documentary style films have been a highlight of the community building activities of this great green group!

Films are held on the first Friday evening of every other month, in Sharon, Ontario. We aim to have special guests in attendance that are educated in the field the documentary focuses on so that they can lead a discussion for those interested in staying afterwards. Experience has shown that we are flicking the lights to break up the wonderful discussions that follow when it’s time to end the evening.

Films cover a number of categories from:

• Gardening
• Growing & Soil
• Lifestyle
• Health
• Building
• Community Culture

to name a few. Some of our past films have been;

• GE Foods and Your Health
• Laughology
• No Impact Man
• A Year Alone in the Canadian Northern Wilderness

April 10th, 2015 – Symphony of Soil
Did you know that the UN has declared 2015 the International Year of Soils? As we welcome spring, come and learn what small steps each of us can do to improve the quality of our soil.

June 5th, 2015 – Elemental: Signs and Teachings from Nature

Aug. 7th, 2015 – Merchants of Doubt: The skewed marketing of global concerns.

Oct. 2nd, 2015 – GMO-OMG: The ever expanding world of genetically modified foods.

Dec.4th, 2015 – Tapped: The role of the Bottled Water Industry on our Health.
