The Power of Community

I would really like to highlight an organization I recently connected with called “Touch a Heart Networks”. This organization aligns local people in need with donors who have the choice of what and who they contribute to. It is very personal. These people often fall between the cracks of other organized charities and support functions. It is so heartwarming to see after pictures of new living quarters that have been transformed by donations from the community. To give those who have fallen on hard luck get a boost to pick themselves up and get started.

September Time Expectations – Life Balance

This is one example of a wheel of life however you may put your own spin on naming the sections. Then go ahead and make realistic plans to keep all areas active. We always have periods of time when 1 or 2 sectors require more attention, however it’s important not to neglect an area altogether or it may create stress in our life.

Practical Solutions for Electromagnetic Fields

I was showing a client last week a new book I purchased called “Electromagnetic Health ” by Case Adams, ND and she mentioned to me that she has always been pro-active in protecting her living environment as well. She told me of a plug for the home that plugs into any electrical outlet. It retunes the frequencies as well as prevents outside EMF signals from entering the home.

Dream Projects – My Fairy Garden

One day as I was allowing my attention to be taken by the sight, I drifted off into my creative thinking and decided it was time to create a garden around the bird house; a Fairy Garden. This garden was one that would provide texture, scent and colour to attract pollinators, hummingbirds and butterflies. So I contacted my favourite landscape designer to come in, hear my vision and add her experience to the design and plant choices. The colour mock-up was completed last fall and a week ago, the finished garden was born!

Your Lifestyle Affects Your Body

One of the biggest categories that Lissa is recognizing in the world right now are people that are not technically classified as Sick People or Well People. We are familiar with this concept. Those of us who are not technically labeled Sick by professionals because blood tests are in the normal range, vital signs are stable yet we don’t feel vital. There can be a feeling of constant fatigue, depression, anxiousness, restless nights’ sleep, decreased libido, weight gain, muscle and joint aches and pains, digestive issues, headaches, chest tightness and dizziness.

Dear Body…a Letter to Me

As I mused about what to share this week, a client came and told me about an article she has just read in a local publication. It was a letter written by a woman to her body and my client said I am going to put this letter where I can read it every day and remember how special my body is! She believed that it was likely many of us could relate to the essence of the message. I agree…it is a common theme. Here is the letter:

Earth Month – Health Benefits of Beeswax Candles

Did you know that beeswax candles clean the air when they burn? Beeswax releases negative ions when it burns. Pollen, dust, dirt, pollutants and any other junk in the air all carry a positive charge, and that is how they can be suspended in the air. The negative ions released from burning beeswax negate the positive charge of the air contaminants, and the neutralized ions are sucked back into the burning candle or fall to the ground.

Green Connections Network – Community Film Nights

For those of you who follow my blog, you know that I value the ability we have to continually educate ourselves. It provides a better platform to make wise choices in our lives so that we create the outcomes we want. On that note, I would like to highlight the community film nights hosted by The Green Connections Network. Moving into our third season, these documentary style films have been a highlight of the community building activities of this great green group!

International Women’s Day 2015 – Make it Happen

Each year International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8. The first International Women’s Day was held in 1911. Thousands of events occur to mark the economic, political and social achievements of women. Organizations, governments, charities, educational institutions, women’s groups, corporations and the media celebrate the day.

Imported Poisons in Food – A Hidden Health Hazard

Every year I purchase science and discovery type magazines for my family to read over the Christmas holidays and this year was no exception. An article entitled “Could this Apple Poison Me?” in the Ideas & Discoveries magazine really caught all of our attention. Education allows us to make informed choices and so I would like to share some of the highlights of this article about imported poisons and the hidden health hazards with you.
