Enneagram Type Nine – Finding Your Passion

So I answered him back with my thoughts but also advised that I would check in with my expert panel themselves, the Type Nines, to see what insight could be gleaned. Well – it was a beautiful experience and I believe great information for the Nine in all of us. Here is a summary of the responses that I received.

Understanding Emotional Intelligence

To this day, I believe that how well we handle our daily interactions and life stresses are based more on how developed our emotional intelligence skills are than anything else. In fact when we are not processing our emotions effectively; it creates the opportunity for energy imbalances to manifest and these show up as dis-ease symptoms in the body. Yes – I believe that every physical symptom in the body first originated at the emotional level.

Let your Self-Expression Flow

It is like a slow-moving river clogged with boulders. The river is your expression, and the boulders are the barriers to your expression. If you had to remove the rocks, it would be very hard to push them out of the channel. You could spend all your time trying to get the rocks out of the channel without getting the river moving. But as soon as the river starts to flow and gains power from the desire to get back to its origin, you will find that you don’t need to do anything to the rocks, because the current takes the rocks with it. You do not need to remove the rocks if you keep the current going at all times.

The Enneagram & Enneagram Subtypes

“Our conditioned Enneagram type structure is defined by a pattern of thought supported by an emotional habit (historically called the passion of the heart) which plays out in three critical behaviours called Subtypes that affect our relationships as well as how we spend our time and energy.”

What Energy Does 2013 Hold for You?

So there was part of me that didn’t want to let go of 2012, I really enjoyed the unfolding of the year and so I delayed my first blog of the New Year to now. Last week after our son returned to Calgary for his next semester at University, I finally accepted that it was time to move forward into this new beginning. I spent some thoughtful time pondering what I wanted this New Year to bring forth because I know how powerful the focus of intention is. I would like to share with you briefly the energy I feel arising for me this year.

2013 – Preparing for New Beginnings

The other pattern for me in December is to give my home a thorough cleaning before I put up any Christmas decorations. The thought of adding beauty to clutter just feels like adding clutter to clutter.

Realize Your Goals in 2012

Here’s one of the reason’s I know that this year will be different! My Dream Team! Yes – in the last couple of months I have invested my time and energy into a Dream Team. Similar to the idea of a Mastermind Group, this is a hand-picked group of people that commit to creating and supporting your greatest dreams. You can orchestrate the format of the group to work for all involved and I will share with you how our group got started.

Following 11.11.11 – Living Your Life at Peak Performance

The steering wheel can represent the Spiritual – the true driver! If any wheel is flat, the ride is affected. We can all handle being off balance for short periods of time before the body gives us stronger and stronger signals to pay attention to before a breakdown will occur.

For me – I want to be at peak performance to live my life every day. Together with my Dream Team, I have created a vision statement and business plan that incorporates strategies for all four wheels. The first 3 are quite straight forward so I thought I would share with you my strategies for the 4th wheel entitled Stress Management.

Life Balance and the Enneagram

What I have witnessed in myself and others, is that our gifts and strengths when out of balance, become our greatest challenge. I liken it to having blinkers on that the race horses are often seen wearing to keep their focus straight ahead on the track. When we have our blinkers on and are focused on the very thing that our personality tunes into with all of our energy, it is safe to say that there are aspects of our lives that are getting the short end of the stick. That action typically does not act in our favour long term. It is a way that we get ourselves “stuck” so to speak. Let me give you a brief run down for each type.

Adapting Your Business in Changing Times

People do business with people they know, like and trust. We now have social media which offers the ability to reach out and share knowledge but also offers a venue to expose a businesses core values, beliefs and personality. There were concrete examples shared for the use of videos, blogs, QR codes and websites. Did you know that 90% of online consumers say watching videos will influence their buying decision? So the question for each business is – how are you building relationships with your current and potential clients given the addition of new technology?
